Sunrise Blvd Animal Hospital, located in Citrus Heights, is seeking a Licensed Registered Veterinary Technician interested in learning Dentals or with Dental experience.We will train the right candidate to become a fully competent Dental Technician, including but not limited to, complicated extractions, nerve blocks, suturing, etc. We provide you with rigorous training to become the specialty tech you aspire to be!About us:We are large, dynamic team of talented, passionate professionals and are outfitted with the technology and equipment necessary to provide phenomenal care to our clients and patients.   • (2) Completely outfitted surgical suites
  • Idexx in-house laboratory equipment (Procyte, Catalyst, Sedivue, Coag Dx, etc.)
  • Area of the hospital dedicated to advanced dentistry
  • Digital X-ray and digital dental X-ray systems
  • Ultrasound
  • Full in-house pharmacy
  • Oxygen cage
Registered Veterinary Technicians must possess excellent customer service and computer skills as well as technical skills.Primary Responsibilities:
  • ● Ability to perform complicated molar extractions, nerve blocks, etc. We will consider RVT's that want to be trained in Dentals, as well.
  • ● Ability to Calculate CRI's and monitor anesthesia.
  • ● Client communication and education.
  • ● Proficient in Venipuncture, IVC placement and Intubation.
  • ● Run in-house lab-work.
  • ● Medication administration.
  • ● Prescription filling practices.
  • ● Take radiographs.
  • ● Maintain equipment.
  • ● General cleaning. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • ● Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
  • ● Ability to think critically; understanding logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • ● Exhibit strong problem solving and an organized approach to the position.
  • ● Assist other departments when needed.
  • ● Follow OSHA regulations.
  • ● Perform other duties as assigned.

  • ● Frequently required to bend, stand, stoop, walk, sit, talk, and listen, frequently working in a bent position.
  • ● Frequently use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; will reach with hands and arms.
  • ● Use strength or agility in capturing and restraining stronger, more active animals.
  • ● Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • ● Occasionally handle dogs weighing up to and over 150 lbs. Assistance will be provided by animal handlers when working with larger animals.
Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to hazards associated with aggressive patients; hazards associated with infected animals and controlled substances; exposure to unpleasant odors and noises; exposure to bites, scratches and animal wastes; possible exposure to contagious diseases. Follow federal and state animal health laws and regulations including OSHA and DEA.A valid RVT License is required for the RVT position.Benefits include:

  • Pay DOE and Proficiency Level:
  • RVT with minimum of 1 years experience with Dentals will be at the higher end of the payscale: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
